While our skilled technicians can often repair existing AC units, there comes a point where replacement becomes the more economical and beneficial option. In the harsh Arizona climate, AC units typically have a shorter lifespan than in milder regions, often lasting between 10 to 12 years on average. If your current system is showing any of the following signs, it might be time to consider a new AC installation:

• Age of Your Unit: If your AC unit is over 10 years old, it's likely nearing the end of its effective lifespan. Even if it's still running, newer models offer significantly improved energy efficiency.
• Frequent and Costly Repairs: Are you constantly calling for repairs? If repair bills are adding up, or if you're facing a major component failure like a compressor replacement (which can be very expensive), investing in a new unit is often more cost-effective in the long run.
• Skyrocketing Energy Bills: An old or inefficient AC unit has to work harder to cool your home, leading to a noticeable spike in your monthly utility bills. A new, high-efficiency system can drastically reduce your energy consumption.
• Uneven Cooling or Hot Spots: If some rooms are consistently warmer or cooler than others, or if your home just doesn't feel as comfortable as it used to, your current AC may no longer be able to adequately cool your space, or it may be improperly sized.
• Unusual Noises or Odors: While some noises are normal for an operating AC, loud grinding, squealing, banging, or persistent musty/burning smells are serious indicators of an ailing system that may be beyond economical repair.
• System Still Uses R-22 Refrigerant (Freon): Older AC units that rely on R-22 refrigerant are becoming increasingly expensive to repair due to the phasing out of this ozone-depleting substance. If your unit requires R-22, replacement with a modern, environmentally friendly system is highly recommended.
• Excessive Indoor Humidity: Your AC unit plays a crucial role in dehumidifying your home. If your indoor air feels sticky and humid, even when the AC is running, it's a sign that the unit is no longer performing optimally.
• Your Home Has Changed: If you've added an extension, converted a garage, or significantly altered your home's layout, your existing AC unit may no longer be properly sized to handle the new cooling demands, leading to inefficiency and discomfort.
